Kinja'd!!!

Been trying to sell the winter tires from my VW and it finally happened.

I got a scammer!

This has been an incredibly annoying ordeal. I get lots of inquiries into whether they’re still available and then never hear from people again.

Kind of want to reply to this person with some bs.

It is probably best to ignore them. Responding to scammers if for pros like James Veitch. (If you haven’t watched his videos I strongly suggest them they are hilarious.)

Why’d you cover up the scammer’s phone number?

Ask him if he would send you $900, so you can send the money to the shipping company directly, and for him to give you the wire instructions for the shipper.

Seriously though, play along. Make him waste time sending a fraudulent check. Every minute he wastes on you, is another minute he isn’t scamming someone else.

I always try to get them to send the check. Making life harder for thieves is a good thing

See how many checks you can get them to send you. My best was 3 from one guy. Told him I never received it, the dog ate it and that the wind blew it out of my hand as I walked to my car. Oddly enough all 3 were in different names. Called each bank and told them about the stolen checks. Two banks knew, one did not.
